What to put in media container??

I have a marineland emperor 400 and 280. Not sure what to put in the extra media container that comes with them.

I was thinking this

....is it worth the price?? $62.00 for 5 Liter of it.


Would this be worth it?? Or is there a better alternative i can use to put in media container.

I stuff mine full of extra filter floss... Are you going for bio or mechanical filtration?

What is filter floss? not sure what your talking about. Im going for more bio filtration.

filter floss is a kind of hairgrass clumped together to perform mech filtration. the eheim substrat pro is the best bio media available imo. sintered glass is also a good alternative however it needs to be changed after about 8mts i think,. the substrat pro, which is also sintered can be rinsed and used again.

i dont think that 5lts for $62 is expensive, compared to malta that is...eheim prices are more than the rest of europe here for some strange reason
