Any ideas? I am getting a 1000 litre tank about 2.5 or maybe 3 metres long. The shop workers are coming in to take some measurements in my house soon.
I know i will be moving my discus [6 of them], 1 baby red tail catfish [14cm], maybe ghost knifefish [they are quite big so i hope my RTC won't eat them when he gets big] and plecos.
After the big tank has settled, i really want to get a tire track eel. That is basically all i had in mind but i know my tank won't be full and cosy yet.

I was thinking of a shovel-nose catfish or reticulated pimelodid but they just weren't 'cute' enough when i saw them. any ideas? i have also been thinking about 1 giraffe catfish since they are more gentle and very very adorable [in my opinion]. :)

Do some research dude, RTC's will eat things even if they are the same length as them... I consider your discus and gostknifes dead, along with anything else you put in there, unless it grows 3 feet long. And that tank, even though it seems "Huge" to you, is not a very "Huge" tank as far as housing for a rtc goes. I am building a 670 gallon next year/this christmas, and I still wouldn't think about getting an RTC.

from what ive heard a 600 gallon tank would be a suitable grow out for a RTC eventualy needing a 1500 gallon pond at a minimum (preferably much much larger)

i agree the RTC will eat everything in that tank unless its larger than itself
*hint RTC grow to atleast 5 feet long (possibly more)
