Well it's no wooden frame with a liner and a waterfall but I'm going to set up what I'm calling an indoor pond. I have two spare stock tanks right now and I'd like to use either one or both to keep fish in. One is 14 gallons (I have 10 gallons of water in it) and I'm currently using it for quarantine for what I'm going to decide are officially all healthy Emerald Shiners. That one is cycled and I could put permanent fish in it as soon I remove the Shiners. The other one is 20 gallons and it's tall (probably would put about 15-17 gallons in it) and it's currently empty and obviously not yet cycled. While the 14 gallon is less volume than the 20, I like the dimensions better and it's already cycled so I'm probably going to use it for the indoor pond. I'll probably use the 20 gallon one to breed my feeder snails outside until it gets to cold.
So now I'm faced with the decision of what to put in the 14 gallon. I can either do room temperature which ranges from 64-74 F in my house from Winter to Summer, or I can put a heater in it and set it to whatever would be needed. My tapwater ph is 7.5-7.6 and I don't like to really change it. For filtration I currently only have seeded gravel and decor plus an airstone but I could always add a sponge filter. So what would be some good candidates to put in an indoor pond this size?
