Currently running a 75 Gallon Pygo Natt tank, and cycling a 36 gallon tank with some guppies. Running an Emperor 280 on it.
I want to stock it with some sort of Cichlid(s) if possible.
What type can I hold in it for life?
I'm guessing I'll have to get a smaller type of Cichlid...
Suggestions?

Rams would be nice with some Cardinals, the guppys would serve the purpose of supplying some live food but I'm not sure the temp would be ok for them, mid 80's.

Dwarf Cichlids! A small group of Apistos or Rams, maybe even Kribs or Dwarf Pikes. Then add some dicthers and youre set.

Welcome to MFK!!! :welcome:

What are your water perameters? If your water is soft I would look into the Laetacara genus (dorsigera specifically). Lots os personality in a small package, easy to breed and much more personable than apisto's IMO. You could keep a pair in a 36. They are less sensative than apisto's too. ;)

Dwarf pikes and rams need heat heat heat and lots of it. Make sure you keep that in mind when selecting tankmates. GL!

Thanks Tom. Lots of LFS seem to have them right now too. I should clarify my post though, if you go apisto you NEED soft water. Laetacara are fine in soft to neutral ph. Just keep up on the water changes. The ones with poor colors are from high level levels of disolved organics IMO. Mine look great and are growing like weeds in ph 7.6 but the nitrates are less than 10ppm for example. Keep it clean ;)
