What to stock my tank with?

Hi all, i am getting a 40 gal breeder 36x18x17 currently thinking about a smaller knifefish for the bottom and 2 honey gouramis what else can i put in there with them

Im not that familiar with knifefish but I think even the smaller species need a larger tank then a 40b

id put clown loaches. you can never go wrong with clown loaches
