There is a farm pond north of where I live that have MASSIVE grass carp (5' long at least!) and probably about 1foot wide. Well the question is how do I catch them? It is a farm pond so that means so snagging or shooting or bow fishing or spearing or ext. There is no fruit trees around the pond so I cant gather bait there. So what is a good bait for them? I have a large baitcaster to sue for them :)

Probably right, can a mod move this please? And how should I fish it top or bottom?

Me and my dad use corn. We spot them graising and then throw like a handful in the water to get them feeding then cast a treble hook with corn on it in front of them and wait till they suck it in. Works pretty well if the waters clear enough to spot them.

I caught them by threading my hook through half slice of bread and letting it float(also worked with cinnamon roll). I also caught them using green leaves.

On a side note that fish was probably stocked in that lake by the owner to keep the weeds under control. Most of the stocked grass carp are triploids meaning they are sterile and cant reproduce and are not a threat to the pond. So if you catch it you should probobly just take a quick pic and let it go instead of killing it.

dcorreia thats why I eliminated lethal methods haha, and I might try the slice of bread floating, or chumming with bread. It is about 15' clearity in the water so you will see them when they come by grazing.
