So I decided that I'm going to paint my background on my 90g glass black but right now it's running and I can't shut it down, I know somewhat to do like use a roller and move everything to the front. I will have to paint the back from one side of the tank because the other side is really close to the wall.
So my biggest question is what to use to paint it black?
And any other suggestions would be great.

I think I'd cover the whole thing in saran wrap and tape it down to seal it. Turn off/remove any hobs/air stones/etc and use a quick drying spray paint. Once you're done spraying, put a fan in the area to remove any fumes and dry the paint. Once the paint is dry and there isn't any smell uncover the tank and plug your filters in.

I used a roller to "attempt" to paint my tank black. It made a horrible mess on the wall behind the tank. You might try to mask the wall if you decide to paint.

I did my 125 in place while it was up and running. I used what's called a noodle roller on a long handle. The noodle rollers are much slimmer than a regular roller. Turned out ok and I only hit the wall behind the tank once. :)

Also, just use a standard latex paint such as Rustoleum or Valspar.

Tape up a plastic drop cloth behind the tank then you won't have to worry about hitting the wall. Also, look into one of those mini-rollers with an extension. I rolled the back of my 75 with one of those with latex. Took 3 coats. Try going left to right, dry, top to bottom, dry, then left to right again.

I would mayb get something blak to put behind it so u dint have to permanetly paint it

Latex comes off very easily. Just a quick razor blade job an it's off. Latex isn't easy scratch, so when I move filter or something I don't have to be super careful?
How long should I wait inbetween each coat? And how long should I wait till I move the filters back?
