a guy in my area found the smaller turtle from sewers...

yes Sewers it was coming out drain hole on to the street & its was bit by mouse its left back leg's 4 out of 5 fingers are bitten Off & u can see bone of its feet(its the smaller turtle)...

so i told this guy that i can take care of it..and he gave it to me...
smaller turtle felt lonely & horrified by us...it always trying to escape...
so i bought Same specie turtle from a Pet Seller, this turtle is bit bigger than i got...
now both Turtles stay relaxed & do sleep at night before when samll was alone it never slept...

my question is:
- what specie are these?
- what do they eat?
- the bigger turtle i have since 20th October. And it never eats anything.

- today i open its mouth & put in the turtle food forcefully...when in water it chewed it & thew it away...while the smaller turtle loves this Turtle food & eats all in a few seconds...

Here the Pics of :
- Both Turtles.
- Smaller Turtle's Missing Fingers & its appearing foot Bone.
- Turtle food which i feed these hard-shells.

plz help me on this...

- will the lamp light do the job???

- or will lamp with 100watt bulb do the job??

- lighting should be towards then in water or outside dry???

- after some time in water turtles just keep on paddling in the water container...this means i should take them out???

- i always boil the water & make it warm & then put it in water container, then i put in the turtles..is this goos techniques also???

- should i put salt in water also??

Musk turtles do not need light. Just give them an inclosure with about 90% water and 10% land to bask. you can put a heat lamp over the basking spot so that they can dry off and warm up when they need to. also, keep the water in their tank warm, if they came from sewers, I would not worry about boiling the water, regular tap water should be fine. you could add a pinch of salt to the water as well but I am not sure how much of a difference it would make. these guys should be okay in a 40gal breeder tank for their whole lives since they do not get very big.
good luck with them

these guys didn't come from sewers...LOL.
the small one might have been droped in drain & mouse bits its left foot off...that what i said.

i bought big one for the company for little one...

but now the problem is Big one never eats & till now it never ate anything yet...i don't want it to die.

so plz help me on this...why isn't big one eating anything???

Those don't look like Musk turtles to me, especially as the OP is in Pakistan...those look like juvenile Kachuga (Pangshura) smithii .... which would make sense given that they are native to Pakistan, unlike mud turtles...

They need proper spectrum basking lights.

I was not sure what they were, I just assumed that stonefish was right. sorry.

Definitely not Musks. I do agree, I think they are Pangshura smithii.
