i've tried many times to breed my convicts but everytime they do they will eat the fry after a few days, what type of cichlids raise their young well? thanks!

It depends onthe fish, all cichlids can be great parents, usually convicts are known for being really good parent.
If conditions are right, many cichlids will spawn frequently.
I have a pair of nicaraguense that spawn about every 30 days, they are great parents until ready to spawn again, but will eat the 1st spawn, as soon as the second spawn is put down.
In order to keep them from eating a previous spawns fry, as soon as I notice them digging in a new area, I remove the parents to another tank, allowing fry to grow up unmolested in the tank they were spawned in, and the parents to spawn again, in a different tank, all to themselves.

Best parents out of all the cichlids I've had were, Krobia Xinguensis, Red Tiger Motas, Discus various types, Red Head Tapajos Most were good but these stand out as particularly good parents. I'm sure the list can be a mile long, as most cichlids given the right opportunity and conditions are good parents.
