What type of Arowanas can you keep more then one of in a tank? Is it just the jardinis that are not good more then one?
I would like to get a pair of aros but just am curious if it would be possible.

it's possible, but you have to be lucky enough to have an actual pair, a huge tank, or several to reduce agression.

Silvers and blacks don't do well either in small groups. If you are lucky they might, but generally one will kill the other.

When I was in my 20's I worked for a tropical fish wholesaler, wich eventually evolved into a 240 gl Arowana tank with 2 silver Aro's. Back in the 80's, fish information was so much harder to come by but I HAD heard that you shouldn't keep two aros together. They got along excellently every day, constantly swimming together. Absolutly wonderfull....Untill, I think, Jupiter would come in line with the earths moon. About every 3 to 4 months the larger fish (24") would start picking on the smaller one (22"). This would go on for about a week. Sometimes when this would occure I thought he was going to kill it. The smaller one would totally submit. But, again, after about a week of this, I'd walk in the room and they were back swimming together like nothing happened. Then they would be 100% polite with one another for about 3 - 4 months.

What is being described above is true. A pair or a group of aros can live together seemingly in harmony then all of a sudden lash out like world war 3. With asian aros, the more the better since it's less likely to induce major damage. Hard to focus on just one individual. IMO, most aros can be comm depending on how lucky you are, aros individual temperament & are your willingness to see some wear & tear every now and then.
