Ok so i recently purchesed 3 upside down catfish. In my brothers tank, when he had only a few fish, i got him a type of catfish. We thought it died awhile ago as it was never out. However we found it one day and i put it in my tank thinking it would come out more since i havr the upside down catfish. It did. I cant remember the name of the fish when i bought it. Can any of you guys name it? It sometimes swims upside down, it seems to have a high fin with leopard like spots, its kidav terretorial with the other catfishes and its about 3 in long. I would get a picture of it but its not out right now

I think this is a hybrid synodontis, looks like the mos common kind https://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=602 - note the variability of the appearance, plus they change with age .

If you wanted a better guess at what kind of hybrid, we'd need more and better photographs, albeit I am dubious it's worth it. Still it's easy - bring it up to the front glass in a net or place it in a make-shift phototank.
