What type of cichlid is this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sounds like a Yellow Hugejaw, they are from africa and sometimes come in an orange variety.

Sorry best I can do without pics.

Ignore the first two replies. ODDBALLS:screwy:
The best advice I can give to for you to try and post a pic as your description is extremely vague. You must remember that there are over 600 species in Lake Malawi alone, so who knows how many in the entire continent! A pic please!!:naughty:
 :headbang2 :nilly:

Try a comprissiceps ... Maybe :)

My guess, going on your 'HUGE jaws!' description, would be either yellow/gold A. compressiceps or A. calvus. They're African, from Lake Tangyanika.

sounds like Yellochromis Bigamouthis, probably wild caught from your description.

No but honestly while yellow/orange with huge jaws does cut out alot of options it doesnt narrow it down anywhere close to what we need for proper ID.;)
