Well I got a African cichlid and clown loach community going in a 90g and my gf wants an eel to go with it, and I thought it would be kool but what type of eel would go good in a 90g and not harm the cichlids?

Any species of the Macrognathus genus should do fine (ex: peacocks, zigzags, etc.), just get it at a decent size so it doesn't get eaten.

I'd put in a fire eel they grow potentialy 3ft long and won't eat adult African chichilds

and will also outgrow a 90... Look into the 2 tanganyka ( I know I botched the spelling ..) species if you don't mind dropping a few $. they run 30$+ usually. stay small enough to be comfy in your tank.. and like the high PH africans love, and have some very interesting patterning.

this is a type of eel that can go with African cichlid. Aethiomastacembelus ellipsifer

Nice looking eel
but i got gravel substrate and i got a couple powerheads going because of undergravel filters and the loaches love the current. Do you think the eel would be fine with the gravel and current?

Yeah, it'll be fine as long as it has plenty of hiding places.
