That's a nice chocolate cichlid. they go through some wild color changes. Enjoy the awesome new fish.

Personality-wise they're pretty similar to a mellow oscar. You know, the occasional pussycat oscars you see sometimes...but they are greedy eaters like O's.
 
Care tip #1 : big filtration and water change shedule. They poop a lot because they eat a lot. I would say solo in a 75gallon tank or a community of 125 or larger.
