why do you say not compatible with africans? small african no because a jag can eat them but large africans are perfectly fine. most likely you jag will see no african as a threat and leave them all alone.

PM this guy in a few months and see how his jag worked out with his africans. The general rule in keeping cichlids is not to mix africans with americans, I don't see why a jaguar (of all fish) would be an exception. The jag is going to outgrow those fish in 6-8 weeks and tear them to pieces one by one. Tankspace is going to be the biggest issue on wether or not that combo will work.
 
get him out of there before all your africans get decimated
 
the main issue will be that the high protein meaty food the jag prefers will be detrimental to the mbuna, which might get bloat due to that
 
Jag......It don't belong with the africans.. they require diffrent phs.

the pH is not that big of a difference if the water they're kept in is up near 8. CA cichlids don't require soft acidic water like South American cichlids
