My brother went to Petco and got a fish who was sold as an Oscar who'll be in a 125 gallon tank but the longer he's had the fish(4 days now), the less he says it looks like one. Do you all have any good guesses as to what type of fish my brother might have? I figured this was the best place to ask :) Thank youF3FC7279-C337-408F-8937-6533FD23D0FD.jpeg, F3FC7279-C337-408F-8937-6533FD23D0FD.jpeg24A6DB46-4205-4C51-9E54-58CBBF9BBE5E.jpegC1967399-5632-46F9-A7DD-3F436A65C33A.jpeg7E47EAD3-3C1B-4F73-85A6-E93A7A849E13.jpegF3FC7279-C337-408F-8937-6533FD23D0FD.jpeg7E47EAD3-3C1B-4F73-85A6-E93A7A849E13.jpeg, 24A6DB46-4205-4C51-9E54-58CBBF9BBE5E.jpegC1967399-5632-46F9-A7DD-3F436A65C33A.jpeg

Definitely not an Oscar, looks more like a Central America cichlid, maybe a flowerhorn?

I don't know what the employee was thinking! This is a classic example of how knowledgeable most of the employees at pet stores are.
Not entirely the employees fault. It’s half the employee and half the buyer. If the buyer is getting a small Oscar then they should know and be able to tell the difference between the fish they want and a different type of fish. But when you got 2 people that aren’t that well informed then they go off what they tell each other and that’s how the mistakes like this are made.
