I cant tell, it looks pretty young yet. Post some more pics when it has more color. Or somebody else my know.
 
Lookin like a not so colored up Geophagus sp. 'red head tapajos'....have the right caudual and dorsal fin...and the black stress bars look right as well. How big is it...some 'red heads' don't start to color up till about 3 to 4"...
 
Thats what I was leaning towards but I wasn't to sure.
 
yeah im goin to go with red tapajos have one at my work right now..and it looks just like that but has more color to it...

I was trying to say that but couldn't remember the spelling. Either that or altifrons. I think the "red hump" usually get their hump at about 3 in. I've only had a few but they always showed it pretty early. So I'll lean twards the first two.

Anyone know how to tell altifrons apart from surinamensis? I think these are often mistaken for one another. I was researching at the library from one of the cichlid atlas books and they talked about the differences but it was to much for me to take in.
