What type of kelberi is this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They have spangling in their two pelvic fins too but they don't start to show until a certain age or size. That said, the tail markings suggest to me that the fish is a kel but I am not sure which species.....probably a bahia.

Sold me as a real kelberi. I don’t know what’s the meaning of real.

FWIW My Bahia had spangling on the pelvic and anil fin at 5”. I don’t see those markings from your picture, it could be a hybrid. Hopefully someone can chime in and help out. Great looking fish either way though.

since there’s a little blue on the fins, could be a rio tocantins kel

my Tocantins developed spots on fins at different stages too. So possible
Suppose you’ll just have to enjoy, wait and see for sure
