I'm jw what you guys use in your filters for removal of ammonia, nitrates, etc.. I have a 125 gallon tank and have 2 Aqua Clear 110 HOB filters. I've typically just used a cheap brand of the carbon and zeolite crystals mixture. Recently I've gotten API Ammo-Chips and they work great, but having to recharge them every 5 days is a bit of a pain. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a bio bag of matrix pond in all my AC110 in all my tanks, and run it in all my trays in my canister filters. your bio filters lives in your media,.

I have a 125g and run three emperor 400's. Never had a problem with anything. I do have higher nitrates from having well water though.

nitrates are the battle in a healthy tank, well water in a farming community can make it even harder.

I run two AClear 110s in my 135 gallon. A little of the Bio-max. I don't use charcoal. Nothing else. I change one-third of the water every ten days. I only have five frontosa fish in there.

large water changes being the key word here. Agreed.

Pothos...It will change your life! Trust me I can go 2-3 months with no big water changes due to the plants will keep nitrates incredibly low! They're harmful to pets so keep that in mind!

I agrees with Ibsnsshaik pothos does work and what ever u choose on bio media all work well. With limited area in ur ac110. I recommend on matrix.. I have them in all my filters since it can be packed and tucked into tight fitlter areas..

Thanks guys for the info. I actually did the pothos 3 weeks ago and the plants are doing well. I had a big nitrate spike about a month ago, which is why I got the pothos. So in my AC 110, I have the media sponge, the ceramic bio rings and some mixture of carbon and ammo-chips. Should I use the pond matrix instead of the carbon then?
