I dont have a picture sorry but at a lake down the road from my house there are these 2 to 6 inch fish that hang out close to the shoreline. They look like they have spots and blue tent to them some red. They also have a big spot by there front fin. They look very attractive like a Jack Dempsey and I have been thinking about catching some but wanna know more about what kind of fish I would be getting into.
Thanks,
Brooklyn

Probably some kind of sunfish. Look up bluegills and other sunfish and you should get a couple ideas

I have looked them up but they seem to be a lot more colorful than the pictures I have seen. Maybe the juveniles have more color. Looks like possibly a green sunfish.

Actually I think there longear sunfish. Very beautiful fish.

^ actually the pictures will be more help than just guess of what species.

obviously they must be land sharks. you are lucky that those were juveniles, otherwise they might have climbed up the bank and dragged you in.

haha I cant get good pictures bc I havent caught one yet but were going to go fishin soon. They look like gill blues avatar.
