I saw different types of pellet food, not size, I mean for color and growth. by the way I own a green terror and red devil. Which type would be the best

I prefer this right here, medium fish formula. Anything under 4" in my house gets the 1mm (I believe "thera A", I would need to check). I buy both by the 5lb bucket full from a vendor here on MFK.

I use (as a rough guide) for cichlids:

-.5mm Grow for fish up to 1.5"
-1mm Cichlid formula up to 4"
-2mm medium fish formula up to 8"
-3mm large fish formula anything up to 12"
-4.5mm jumbo fish formula after that.

I occasionally mix in the appropriate sized Thera formulas, which have a little more fat and protein. I don't feed them daily. I buy mine from Pharoah here on MFK, great price and free, fast shipping.

I have used all different sizes of NLS.Right now I am using the large fish formula (3mm) and jumbo fish formula (4.5mm) and to be honest all my fish seem to much prefer the jumbo formula. The jumbo formula is floating and is not nearly as hard as the sinking types of NLS and my fish much prefer it so I think I will just buy the jumbo size from now on.Even my Ornatums which one of them have not hit the 4 inch mark yet eat the jumbo pellets with no problem what so ever and Ornatums do not have big mouths. My fish are feed NLS exclusively and I feel like it is the best pellet food on the market hands down so you can not really go wrong with what ever size you decide to get.

I use Thera A+, the standard Cichlid formula, Hikari Staple and Hikari Gold. Throw them all in a big pot and shake, job done.

Guaranteed to get a varied diet

I also feed, bloodworm and Brine Shrimp.

I like this guide. I have been trying to find something appropriate for my cubans now that they have passed the 4" mark. The 1mm seems too small and the only other larger size I have is the 3mm. Where do you guys get the 2mm med. fish formula? I cannot find it.

As a generalization I start new fish with Thera +A for about the first month then feed Cichlid formula. 1mm then 2mm then 3mm according to size and the fishes perferance some like the 2mm at a smaller size than others so I'll offer both and they can eat the size they perfer, this of course is in a mixed community. The only guy who gets 4.5 is my RD @ 12+". I do like feeding the Thera +A to my GTs more often as the added garlic seems to be benificial to they're overall well being. All NLS formulas contain the same ingreediants the only differance being the specific amounts of each ingreediant in the differant formulations.
