What type of Silicone to use?

Now that I have your attention


I have a 110 gallon tank that is many years old and housed everything from fish to gators to iguanas to rats. rats being the last and also the ones who chewed all the silicone out. Now my question is

Is it okay to use 100% silicone from home depot or do I need to use aquarium silicone?

I am worried that regular silicone wont hold the pressure

or they market aquarium slilcone as a cashcow

GE 1 Window and Door. Do not use bath and tile.

GE type one without mildew resistance. It should say that it's safe for food contact surfaces.
It will hold under the pressure. Keep in mind that it's only a sealer and isnt intended to hold the entire thing together.

good call, save me some cash cause I make caves out of aquarium sealant. Not anymore.
