What type of sunfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He means that a green x bluegill can't have a baby with another green x blugill just like a mule can't have a baby with another mule (or whatever you call a female mule). The hybrids are bigger and stronger, so if they could mate with eachother they would croud out all other species and that is the only thing you would see - hints: taking over.

I said before that I did have a private pond so no harm right.

Oops, sorry. I thought I read every post but somehow missed that one.

Yeah it's fine as long as there's no way the fish in your pond can end up in local waterways.

sorry to bring up old topics but thought it was important...

DONT EVER RELEASE FISH YOUVE HAD IN YOU AQUARIUM!

NEVER NEVER NEVER

Seriously, if you keep a fish it's your responsibility. If you don't want it, can't keep it, whatever... kill it. Feed it to your cat... (or me, I'm raising fish to eat hehe) but please don't release fish ever. Umm.. sorry, thanks bye :)

Bluegill & green sunfish hybreads are firtle, they just have like a 95% male ofspring and a 5% female offspring. Or the reverse I can't remember off hand. Also each generation is smaller then their parents. You start out with a fast growing fish but in three generations you end up with a fish that will be to small to eat. That is why Hybrids are bad for a fishing pond unless you stock every three years.
