hello MFK.

i am setting up a new freshwater system but i cannot decided what to do.
a bit of background info, ive been into fish all my life thanks to my dad, had my first tank at ten, multiple tanks by 12 and a reef aquarium by age 13. when i was doing freshwater the first go around, i just did beginer stuff (guppy breeding, community tanks, crayfish, ect) and then i got into saltwater, which is basicaly all ive been doing for the past two years. i had the whole bim bam and kaboozle. collector SPS, rare fish, ect.
now i have decided to go back to my freshwater roots. i have worked at an LFS for almost 2 years and have multiple others in my city so ordering stuff in is no issue.

i have not yet decided on dimensions for this tank, but i could go 5 feet maximum length, 26" maximum width and 26" maximum height. a good friend of mine is a wicked tank builder her in the city and master of the CNC so custom plumbing, overflow, sumps, ect are no problem.

now here's my issue. i can not for the life of me pick what to do for this tank. i am just now realising how much of freshwater i have not done.
some idea's i had were:
-Discus tank
-Tanganyika tank
-Malawi tank

i want something that i can watch the fish for hours with there seperate personalities like i could in my reef, and also something that looks nice in my house.
i am fully aware of the demanding needs of some of the ideas i have listed, and i am fully willing to spend as much time and as much cash as it takes.

so please, if you have any other tank suggestions, or if you think one that i listed is better than the rest, please speak up and let me know.

Kelberis dont get as big as other pbass

since you live in canada and have different laws on fish why not (and this is just me) do a large predator tank like snakeheads or something in that area. something that gets big with lots of personality and is very active so its fun to watch.
