I seen some RD's with just a pure orange color, while some others half blotches of white in them also. Is there anymore and do any of them go by under different scientific names? If I get a RD from petsmart, what type or varient would that be? A common orange one?

there all all kinds of variants.to much to mention. Most rd sold these days are mixed with midas cichlid. If u want a pure nice rd,go to tangledupincichlids.comHe sell wild caught rd and other central american cichlids.here is my rd collection

I didnt know most of them were hybrids these days. If i get a purebred RD from jeffrapps. How much do you think shipping would be to Cali? If it's too expensive what other alternatives do I have to find an aggressive male RD? Are those hybrid RD/midas cichlids still aggressive or more mellow now?

you can get some purebreed red devils from CJexotics.com , they are located in the midwest so shipping would be cheaper than from TUIC, which is on the east coast.

no Midas and Red Devil's are both very aggressive so their hybrids are still ver aggressive. If you want an agressive purebred get a Cichlasoma Trimaculatus from Rapps. Mean as hell and awesome looking fish

hey jester what part of california do you live in?Im trying to get a couple of fish from jeff rapps also. From everyone Ive talked to his fish are always top notch.
