They are coming to build my 450 gallon glass tank in a week and I have the metal stand in place with 3/4" treated plywood on top of it. I am putting 1" polystyrene on top of the plywood. It has a compression strength of 20psi. Is this going to be ok or should I get a stronger compression strength? The dimensions of the tank are 8' x 3' x 30" high. You can get strengths all the way up to 100psi at 1 1/2" or 2" thickness. If you have a 450 gallon with these dimensions what did you use?

um u dont watnt to tall a styro as if the floor is tilted or some other reason i believe that it can slip or sumthin like that. but if u hae "skirting" on thress sides then go for big

I too would like too know..... I will be setting up a 8'x4' shortly......

i think so long as u can stop the tank from budging by adding skirting along the bottom of the tank a big peice will work well
