what type of vieja is this ?

He is 2" long and quite aggressive im leaning towards bifasciatum , he was sold as a synspilum but the stripe is in the wrong place and hes is starting to colour up with gold, orange and blue.

Hard to tell with that picture but I would say it looks more like a synspilus than a bifasciata or a guttulata to me...

I'll say it's definitely not a synspilus. body shape looks a bit off from my bifasciatus. proportionally bifasc are a bit taller bodied that what your fish looks like. I'd lean towards one of the slightly shorter bodied species like fenestratus or guttulatus.

possibly broederhi, to high frame to be hartwegi. definately not snyspillum unless it is stunted. don't fenes. usually have more elongated bodies?
