Had a show again yesterday in Pittsburgh ( nice to see you again Mr. Reef)

I have not really done any shopping for a while as money has been a bit tight. yesterday I had some extra cash on me so I decided to get my own Christmas present.

Picked me up 3 more viper geckos. woo hoo. got a group of 5 now

and

Picked me up a pair of P. Grandis. Giant day geckos.

I do have a new camera now so i will get some pics up tonight ( hopefully)

Any one else here keep day geckos?

Nice pick ups. I use to keep and breed P. Grandis and P. laticauda. I look forward to seeing some pics. :)

Wanna offer any tips on the P. Grandis?

One thing I can not find is what temps do they need to be at.

I am going to set up a 29 gal for them. I have a 40 but no place to put it right now so I hope the 20 gal will keep them happy till I get some rearranging done and they can be upgraded :naughty:

I kept mine with a temperature gradient of 75˚-85˚F. The trio I kept was in a 75 gallon so you're going to want to go bigger as soon as you can. They can be pretty territorial and downright nasty to each other so the more space you give them the better. Give them plenty of perches for basking and lots of plants for cover to help establish territories.

I have a 40 gal I can set up in the frog room down stairs. Not a whole lot bigger then a 29 gal but will it work better for the time being?

Oh and thank you :-)

I think the 40 with the bigger footprint would be fine for now. It at least gives them more space to avoid each other than the 29 high.

Thank you :-)

I do have an empty 75 gal sitting around. Not sure what I was saving it for but I could put it to use now :-) I want to set it up right/ natural so they will have to hang out in the 40 gal for a few weeks...

Think that will stress them too much ?

Nah...a few weeks in that will be just fine for them. I know you know how to decorate a nice rain forest-like tank so if you decide on using that 75 Gallon I'm sure it will come out awesome.
