My Oscar, my huge guy, Monster was acting strange about 3 months ago. See, he is fine now but he did act really weird for about 2 weeks a while ago. Here is what he would do...
He would keep Terry on one side with him, not let him/her cross over. The other half he kept Tiny there. But if Tiny tried to go over to the other side. He would get attacked by Monster. I remember he would attack Tiny so horribly I thought he would kill him. So constantly standing guard to break up fights.
Once I got so scared for the life of Tiny I just put him in my 10 gallon. I put him back the next day though, realizing my 5-6 inch Oscar was in a ten gallon tank
Then, Monster would do something else strange. He would jump up and we have a lid on the tank, he would hit his head on the tank, not for food, no one would be around except for me. He would jump up and hit his head so hard he had holes in his head!!! Like huge gashes in his head because of this.
He was non responsive too...Almost always when I walked up, he swam in circles or got excited with my other 2 guys. BUT, while the other two got exited, it was like I was not there
Like he did not figure out it was me...the person who raised him
So, now he is back to his normal self but do you guys know what was going on with him? He grew up in the same conditions for almost 2 years, I got him when he was about 2-4 inches long, VERY small...
What was wrong with him? Was it something physical or mental? Or both maybe? I would love to know what happened because he would really scar me there for a while.
