What was your best fish investment?

Per inch, per wow, per performance, breeding, whatever...

Mine has to be my little Oto.
Since I dropped a big fat dollar, yes 1 measly buck, on that sucker, I have yet to clean anything in my 10g. Every plant, rock, tube, every inch of glass, and even the filter gets meticulously scrubbed by my OCD fish.
Best damn dollar I EVER spent!

My 30" niger catfish. Only because he is my favorite.

livestock wise probably the 7 bucks on my turquoise sev, he isn't my favorite fish but i bought him from petsmart when he had bad ich, torn up fins, and was about an inch now a few months later he's about 4" and incredibly healthy with only one dorsal finlet missing (was down to the base)

spent 10 bucks at an auction a few years back for a dozen cherry shrimp. I have sold over 300 bucks worth since plus feed quite a few to hungry fishes.

Investment wise. My dovii pair gave me thousands of fry in 3 spawns that I was able to sell and trade for fish and use for feeders. My best purchase I think was my 11" MBU puffer for $150.00

It's always incredibly rewarding nursing a fish back to health after gross negligence of others. Kudos to you for your patience an determination
