what did ur opinions of fishkeeping b4 u caught interest?

i was a judgemental boy
pls take no offense to this,
i always thought guys with a bunch of fish tanks and fishies were geeks. i heard 2 guys in the pet store talking about fishes, plants, filters, or w/e, didnt understand much they were talking about at the time, and i thought wow these 2 are the biggest nerds in the world.

i now as a teen, i spent almost 1000 dollars on my 29 gallon sw. and i regret ever thinking that. this is actually a pretty cool hobby.
 
Agreed /\!! Some of the most down-to-earth people I know are into fishkeeping. I think the geeks and nerds are NOT into fishkeeping!
 
yeah all the other people who don't like fish or are just like ugh its only a fish - they are pure losers! lol not us were soooooo cool
 
Personally I wanted to keep fish for as long as I can remember. The hard part was waiting for my own place to do it.
Now the hard part is finding space for new tanks!
 
Come to think of it, I've been into fishkeeping since I was old enough to cry! My parents used to keep goldfish before I came around and they said ever since I came home from the hospital I was captivated by the fish! That's hardcore right there :headbang2:headbang2
 
I was always into fish, when I was a kid my parents got me a 20g with a few gold fish. They had no idea how to take care of it or what to do with it, so we ended up putting it infront of a window and the tank was always a mess and required excessive cleaning. Of course, as a method of instilling great traits it was my choir to take care of this thing...obviously I grew to resent the damn goldfish and the whole fish keeping deal. I always loved the big fish I saw in stores and resturants etc.

So now I am way more into it with way more knowledge all because my girl friends turtle died so I got a free 55g...now I want a 300+ muahahaha I have been infected...damn cool fish!
 
I don't remember ever not being into fish. My family had a 55 gallon. I wasn't even 5 when I had my 1st memory of that tank. I think there was an Oscar in it.
