Now I have always been a fan of the "never ending" fishtank. As in the fish can swim round and round and round and round and never hit a "wall" But what is really best for a fish? My biggest fish will eventually be the pangasius catfish, so 24-36" hopefully.

Now the top tank is a 6'x6'x4' tank and the long one is 10'x4'x4' so 1077gallons vs 1196gallon. Now I am aware that the square tank can limit the turn around of a 3' fish specially when there is a 1' center peice for the intake of the filtration leaving 2.5' to turn around the entire tank but to me the swim length is more than double the longer tank

So square
-2.5' turn around, but 24 foot "length" or to me unlimited as u can just keep going if you dont turn around

Long tank
- 4' turn around 10' length

What is everyones opinion and please give me your reason of why

i would go with the long tank.

long, for sure

To me a 10foot tank is terrible viewing area, I cant look at 10feet at once! With 6 feet I can get the depth and 6 feet isnt to wide. On mfk they are saying being square its not a true "endless swim" but now I am thinking rocks in the corner makes it round. What a decision

I guess if I was a fish, especially a long one i'd want the tank that offered me the most room to turn around. I think i'd go for the 4x10.

Could you consider like a 4x15 or something like that?

4x15!!! *eyes bug out* I dont think I know of a slab that can hold 20,000lbs +!

I dont know any acrylic sheet that long either. Thats why I was pondering the "never ending" tank design.

To me I was trying to put myself in the "fish" position. Would I rather be in a long narrow room, or a room which "divides" and I can go round and round and round.

But the 10 footer kinda does make a valid statement over the 6x6, dart 10 feet turn around dart 10 feet instead of dart 6 take a slight turn, dart 6 etc..

I could do a 8x8x4 haha, I dont know if the room would have room for it. Ill probably find that out late spring, early summer.
