I am thinking of either an GATF or an armatus. What would you guys recommend. I really like fish that are hardy and can live long lives and can defend themselves well.
 
Do you have or plan to have a 1000+ gallons for an GATF when it gets larger? What size tank are you working with now?

I have a 900 gallon and a 750 is being built. Do you happen to own Armatus? I am just curious if you know their lifespan if taken care of well. I have heard that Hydrolycus Scomberoides die suddenly after their first year but this doesn't happen to any other payara species.
