Hey,
I have a 50gal tank set up with;
2 Goldfish(temporary)
2 Red Tail Black Sharks
6 Clown Loaches
2 Bristlenose Catfish
and 6 little neons.

I have 4 plants around the back of the tank, and these were to replace 6 that I had about 3months ago. Someone keeps eating or destroying them. My goldfish chase each other alot, im actually trying to give them away. They are only in there because I gave up on the 25gal tank they were housed in. My sharks chase each other a bit as they are a bit dominant. But I cant actually pin it down to anything.

Any more experienced keepers out there got any ideas?:confused:

Thanks

If by bristlenose you mean plecos I think that they are the culprits. Either them or the goldfish.

Ive heard of clown loaches putting little holes in plants, but if the whole plant is being eatin, its definetly the bristlenose plecos.

Goldfish DO eat plants, but like it's been said already if they're bristlenose plecos then most likely them.

You know you should only really keep one RT shark in there right? Could end up killing each other.

Which plants are being destroyed? Bristlenose plecos may eat plants but only if they are dissatisfied with the foods you provide them otherwise I'd cross them out as the possible culprits because they rarely are a problem with plants. Clown loaches are possible culprits aside from goldfish. They are easily suspected as clown loaches drill holes on the leaves. Goldfish on the other hand will practically shred any plant with soft foliage. Only a few plants can survive them. Actually, singletail goldfish are more destructive than the fancy types.

Goldfish

Im guessing my goldfish, i feed everybody quite generously. And yes I am aware of the problems with keeping 2 sharks. I was unaware of this at the time I bought them, I am currently trying to offload one of my sharks, and goldfish to somebody. Hopefully I will get rid of the goldfish soon, and then hopefully the plans will survive. I cant kill them though :(

Thanks guys(and gals?)
