in a 4 and 1/2 ft by 2ft by 2ft ( 134g?)
what would be the perfect landscape for a colny of malawi eye biters?
there is one male and 5 females
(might sell a female though)

im getting the 4 1/2 ft tank by 2 by 2 ft tank soon

and have them in a 5ft by 1.5ft by 1.5ft tank till then

so what would be good.
sand?
two seperate territories?

i will probably do white sand with 2 piles of rocks on each end

it will have 2 300w heaters and a 500gph cannister filter and two 400 gph internal filters and a 400 gph hang on filter

thanks.

yer there are only 5-6" now but still breed broods of 40+

I would try for a pile of rocks on one end (not many as they're not really rockdwellers), some open sand bed and then a bed of Vallisneria sp. on the other side. Giant val would be good but you might have to cut it back often considering how long the leaves get.

they ruined the 40 bucks worth of val i got last time

should i protect the base of the plants with small rocks?

i will upgrade in june to a 125

I don't think the rock piles are as neccessary as open water. Maybe one pile of rocks to give fry a place to hide. Eye biters are an open water fish.

That might help as well as planting in quantity. Lots in one time makes the val feel like part of the decor and a place to hide for them, instead of a few plants that are more like toys.
