Ok so I'm thinking about breeding something. I've bred a number of cichlids and smaller egg layers before. I want something I can have my kids help out with, so I'm not looking to breed anything that will require utterly microscopic first foods.
The tank is an 80 gallon "frag" tank, 48" long, 24" wide, and 16" tall. It is drilled, and has a 75 gallon sump, plus I have a spare 75g and a handful of small 10-29 gallon tanks to use for Growout.
My water has a high pH (8.0+)but is relatively soft (1-2GH and 2kH),its Charleston county water, South Carolina.
I don't mind adding minerals to garden the water and I use crushed Oyster shells in my display tanks already.
I'm thinking about breeding Cuban cichlids or perhaps an African cichlid. Maybe a harem of Demasoni or Saulosi?
Looking for suggestions here.
