Let me explain: I have a community tank with the above fish. Every pair has laid eggs at least once, but the fry have always been picked off by tankmates. My plan is to partition off a part of the tank with a divider and put one pair in isolation so that they can breed. What species do you guys think should get the honeymoon suite?

Didn't vote because you need to set up more tanks and do them all!

Haha, I wish I could. Maybe I'll make enough off this breeding project to expand lol.

Since when are HRP's A. siquia?

I voted for Nanos.
Have wild A. siquia. Prefer nanos.

Cryptoheros nigrofasiatum and the Honduran Red Point have been placed in the new genus Amatitlania along with two newly described species (A. kanna and another I can't remember). I know there is debate as to whether or not these fish are all the same species, but as far as I know this is how it is now.

I like the elegance of Cutteri's. I voted for them, but I think YOU should breed what displays the best qualities and colours.

The Danli race of HRP are not A. siquia or A. nigrofasiatus, but a separate species that is currently being scientifically discribed, Mitch Tobler a PHD grad student just did an extensive survey of the Archocentrus complex in Honduras and will be doing DNA studies to sort this all out. I look forward to the results, We may end up with several more new species in the Amtitlania comples as he thinks the Rio Monga (Rios Claro and Hueron) type HRP may be yet another new species. I'd breed the Nanoluteus as they would bring the most $$. Ken
