Well I just simply cannot decide what to do. So let's see what my fellow MFKers would do.

If you had an EMPTY 180g and wanted one FW fish (only 1) to be a show piece. What fish would you get?

Rules....
1. It cannot outgrow the tank, must be able to stay for life.
2. Must be legal in US
3. Must cost less than $1000
4. Freshwater

Ok let the games begin........

It may be close as far as outgrowing is concerned, but I would say an Arowana. I know it may be a common answer, but I just think they are gorgeous

A nice, big Black Rhombeus, maybe.

What dimensions? Or is this just theoretical, 180g of water any dimensions possible?

That's a species not an Exact fish. So which one?

Sorry my bad. Standard 180g...72"x24"x24" or 6x2x2

You could go for a Jardini or a Dorado (I dunno how big they get), Payara(not sure which), E-eel, AbaAba..the list goes on...
