Hey Team MFK!
It's been a while since I have set up my garage sanctuary of several fresh water tanks...And a couple with a little more salt in them-bu the concern of this post is purely the fresh tanks.
Current count with filters:
On one 55G sump with scrubbies foam and x2 socks
125G fresh mean monster tank, ie: Reticulated knife, BIG one eyed Oscar, smaller red devil
90G silver dollar semi tame tank
45G (column)-drains into 125g- Contains ONLY one *mad at the world* Red Devil with his buddy the fist sized armored Raphael cat
Under the 90G I have a 40G breeder that is cold water/planted with a 15G overflow to its own, separate sump setup (simple)
I also have a stand alone 125G that has an overhead filter system containing scrubbies and Potho's *tree* sump, that houses the mean but not *tough* tank, ie: Timid Oscar, ghost knife, African Feather fin, 9 year old Senagal Bicher, etc. Basicly mean enough to spooke Silver Dollars, but not mean enough for the mental mean tank.
I also have a 50G column brackish tank and a 25G full salt tank- these will be eventually combined too, but its a much smaller system... and not part of this planned move/combination.
So the plan-
Converge ALL fresh tanks into one Big bad sump.
x1 125G
x1 125G
x1 90G
x1 40G
380G total without sump volume
So far I have the 55G sump tank (DIY) running x2 socks through a large sump filled with scrubbie pads and other assorted meda, then through a heater stage and finishing in a sump of pumps. It services 125/90 and 45 column or roughly 250G.
What I would like to do is set up a drain from all the tanks into the sump, have one big pump or x2 pumps into a manifold- pushing water into the various tanks.
The 40G breeder with all my Pothos planted into it will house my Big devil. I can divide the others up into the rest of the tanks. Here's a paint sketch with what I'm planning.

Where I'm stuck... I need some flow numbers, how big of a pump(s) should I get? What do you recommend that will last a while? I was thinking a 90G or 75G off Craigslist or a plastic stock tank (or?) and recreate my current sump, just scaled bigger. But I have too many individual pumps for my taste now, I want to combine stuff into one sump system so I can evolve it into an auto fill easy drain setup and easier to maintain. Note the sink next to it all for fill and drain...
The image is a representation of the back wall of the garage. I want to only come off this wall a couple inches, just enough for plumbing. All wood construction (2x4's and 4x4's lags and all thread)
Thoughts concerns? (or anyone wanna trade x2 125's for a 240 or 300? lol)
