Florida!
I have two 55 gallon tanks connected with a ~20 gallon sump. The bottom tank is home to six 1" convicts...I plan on only keeping a pair or two when they get paired up later on.

The top tank is the problem tank. I want some fairly aggressive, glass-banging fishes. The problem is that I don't know of too many for a 55...? I do have a 75 that I may use if I need to.

Here is a picture of the tanks

This is what I believe to be a male and female convict

I have since added a lot more java moss and some random stem plants to speed up the cycling process.

I also have a 10' metal frame pool that I can use for something when it gets a little warmer. It currently is filled with platy feeders and plants.

Soo...my main question is what, if any, agressive fishes could I put in the top tank to be either permanent inhabitants or move them up to the 75 or pond.

Grammodes can be kept in a 55, will be very skittish until larger. You can put some dithers in for him, that will help, but it wont become a banger till he is bout 6ish inches. They grow pretty slow to btw. A RD/Midas can go in a 75..

Not a glass banger but a REAL nice fish none the less.

I had wondered about C. grammodes...Like a dovii but half the size? I hadn't given them much thought but I am checking them out now.

I think I am going to use the 55 for a while and then tear down my current 75 to use it for whatever I get.

My former GT was a glass banging SOB.

COOL! I myself have never owned a glassbangin GT and tbh I do not think that it is a common trait in them, they will beg for food like oscars, but mine have never launched themselves at me haha!

As for the Grammodes, they will only reach a size of approx. 10 inches, even still thats a pretty big one apparently.

I kept a single male GT in a 55g for 8 years. He was just over 10" and hated my wife. She used to irritate the crap out of him running her hand across the glass for him to chase around. When it was feeding time he let me pet his head sometimes. My Grammodes isn't owner interactive whatsoever but I still like him.

I had a 8" GT one time that just went nuts when my dad came in the room. I have never seen a fish actually hate someone. But this fish only did it when my dad came in. I had to tell him to leave a few times cause i was worried the fish was gonna hurt itself, or actually get to my dad.
