Hi, I just got a 65 gallon with all the trimmings for 50$ :)

What Im asking is what would you do with it if it were yours? Im not doing anything small, fragile, or pretty in this one. I was thinking a Loisellei maybe? Or perhaps a couple smaller things like sal and a texas? My LFS has some 1" Red texas that i want to try. Even if they end up being a FH, they have the nicest color ive ever seen.
Gimme some ideas!

that is a KILLER looking Jag you got in your avatar:popcorn:, oh yeah i would go with the red texas, like you say even if they end up being FH's, you'll still end up with a great looking specimen.

I would get an istlanum, grammodes, or a cuban for a 65 gallon.

Throw in a small group of spotted pims, and a pair of firemouths, with the Red Tex(s)

Istlanum.

Ooh, nice istlanum. And update: The tank is a 75g. I am definately going to try the red texas after some consideration. I also want to try keeping one other cichlid in there. I was thinking maybe a tetracanthus or a freddy, or something of the sort. I am going to get them both from 1", and have some "target" convics in the tank (either all male or all female). I am going to keep a divider ready and keep en eye on them, but i really think it will work. Back before I knew about proper stocking levels, I had a Texas, JD, BIG salvini (at least 7-8"), and a loisellei in a 90g for 2 years with minimal problems, and all got to about 8-10" with water changes once a week. Anyway, caution first, If either of them starts hounding the other too much I will move the victim.
