Well, the centerpiece (24" Silver Aro) of my 180g Freshwater tank pasted last night and I'm torn on what to do. Help a brother out with ideas and suggestions.

Tank is a 180g.
Current fish: 11-12" Widebar Dat, 12" Royal Clown knife, 12: Florida Gar

So now I'm not sure what to do.

1. Sell all fish and redesign the tank for ONLY a single Jardini
2. Mix in a 10-12" Jardini and hope for the best
3. Buy some filler fish (like Albino Oscars) for now till I'm ready for a Jar
4. Do nothing and grow the Dat and RCK for now
5. Pick up 3 free 15" Peacock Bass from a friend and stock with current fish

6. Other, What would you do?

definetly the bass, the jar wont really work, and i think the dat is cooler than any jar anyways

I'm sorry for your loss Harley.:( How long did you have the Aro? Well, I would give it a little time and weigh your options and see what YOU really want as a replacement. The free Pbass seems like a good option!!!

Had him for almost 4 yrs. That tank was originally set up to just be an Aro tank but I kept wanting other fish.

So now I'm stuck with other fish and no Aro. That's why I was thinking Jard.

Does anyone think I would run into P Bass issues of aggression, or could they hurt my prized Dat?

Yes I do think you could run into pbass agression(especially if temensis). What type of pbass? I have had a similar set up in the past with 10" dats and a 12-13" temensis and they fought quite often.

If I was you I would find a Leichardti and add it to the mix. Still no guarantee it will not be agressive but chances are better than with the jardini.

single jardi, all species of peacocks other than intermedia will outgrow a 180 so i wouldn't do that personally.
