So im going to be heading off to college next fall and im in a pickle. i dont know what to do with my 150g tank. So, i wanted to see what you guys would do. either keep the fish and have the parents manage the tank. sell the fish and get ones that dont get so big and are more hardier (maybe some natives) or just empty the tank and wait till im done with school (dont really want to do that)

take the tank with you as well as the fish?

I had to go through a similar deal, although not with a 150, when I went to college. I kept all my tanks up and running and my step mom cared for them my first semester away. Then once I decided I was going to stick with college, I took the fish into store's that would take them and closed them all down and stored them in my parent's basement. I maintained a 2.5 gallon betta tank in college. Once I graduated and got my own place, I had the tank's up and going in a matter of week's.

If I were you...I'd give the tank to me, I only live about 3 hours south of ya!;)

No seriously though, I would keep it up...if your parents are willing to help with it. You will be making trips home right?

If I was you, I would ask your parents to maintain it for you while you were at school. Pending if they were willing to take care of it.

thanks guys i think im going to have my parent take care of them while im going and see how they do and determine after a semester or so what i want to do with them
