I have two male stingrays and about a month ago my smaller one started getting these big white spots on him. After talking to everyone on the forum we came up with it being the plecos. So I got rid of them. He didn't seem to be getting any better so I made a tank out of a horse trough and he has been it for about a month. Here is my problem... tonight I decided to put him back in the tank b/c he is completely healed and eating great. Well the second I put him back the bigger male automatically started to go after him and bite him. I left him in there for about a half of an hour and it was non-stop. So he is back in the horse trough. I don't have the space for another tank right now and I don't know which one to get rid of. :( I kind of wanna keep the little one cause I feel bad, but I have had the big one for two years and the little one for a year. The little one has some pretty bad scaring. Just hoping someone can help me feel better about my decision. Thanks

How big is the diffrence is size? IF it is that bad you might have to get rid of one of them or purchase maybe a female a little bigger than the male, maybe he just wants to breed...

sometimes, you have to make that tough call. If you don't have room for another tank, and a divider won't give them enough room. I'd say what ever one you decide to keep is the right decision, for both the rays sake. Best to try and see if you can find a good home for the other where he will mix in better.

I agree i just lost a rare ray in part to being picked on all the time

tough call, your just going to just have to do what you think is best for you and your rays.

Thanks for the advise. I am leaning towards getting rid of the bigger one b/c I really think he is wanting to breed and I need a bigger tanks b4 I get a bigger female. I just hate to get rid of either one of them. :( How much do you think a good price would be for a 8-10 inch male motoro?

Depends where you are and the demand but id say $150-$200 but if your In some are where they dont get them alot it might be more.

Well there is a lfs here that you can get them at and they sell them for $100 but they are babies.

Can you maybe trade the large male for a small female ? That way you will still have two Rays, and it will buy you some time. Just a thought.
