So I called the cabelas near me recently and asked if they would take my big cats in case I ever needed a home for them. They told me that they absolutely would but did not want any oscars or pacus. lol I already took them my two big gator gar a while back when they reached 3 foot. They have a 22,000 gallon and a 35,000 gallon aquarium. So now I am seriously contemplating taking them because not only would they have a large home, but I would save tons of money each month that was used for feeding them. But then again they are my children. I was thinking about putting them in the pond for the summer but I would have to catch them and haul them back in for the winter. They are all healthy and living in my 700 gallon. I was going to build a bigger indoor pond for them but I am a little short on cash so it has to wait. :(

The cats include...
32" niger
2 24" rtc x tsns hybrids
20" tsn

What would you do?

What are you feeding them that costs so much? Fnd someone that works with seafood, my friend gives me all the free fishi can take, all the stuff that is too old to sell, my hybrid loves! If you have the tank, the food should be the least expensive thing

I would take them in man. I had 3x 20-22" Silver aros and tried to get Shark Reef @ the Mandalay bay to take them in. They said maybe and never got back to me. Needless to say theyre sold.

^^ the fact that you could still see them as they grow would be a good reason to give them in, however if i were you i would keep my favorite of the 4 and try rehoming some of your other fish to reduce feeding costs since you're so attached to ur big cats

I'd rehome them, especially if the larger home won't work due to finances. It will be much harder to rehome them if Cabela's doesn't want them...especially the hybrids

Agreed, seems like the best route to take right now.

Give them to Cabelas. Vist once a week and see how truly monsterous they can be.

At least thats what I would do.
