Eventually I'm gonna get my hands on a red severum, and I want to have another severum in the tank with it. I'm torn between getting a green or a gold to go with it. Right now I know where I could get a nice green and a very nice gold, and some very small rotkeils. What would you guys get? Or should I just scrap this entire idea and keep only one severum? Should I get both and raise them a little bit and see which one plays nice the most and looks the best?

Oh and they would immediatly go into a 55 (both the green and gold are around 2'', rotkeils are less than an inch long) and sometime around october I will be getting at least a 150 gallon tank.

Thanks :D

If the red is a definite, then I would get a rotkeil to go with it. If you're open to scrapping the red, I'd buy 6 or more rotkeils and try to grow them out for a breeding pair.

Either way, keep an eye on them. IME there is a very high level of conspecific aggression with sevs.

Yes the red is a definite, I'm currently in the middle of a 2 month hunt for one lol.

I don't think I have the cash to buy 6 rotkeil's, they are 10 dollars each for ones that are very very small.

I have witnessed conspecific aggression with severums, but I'm hopeful that maybe if I raise them together the aggression would be minimal, I've seen multiple tanks online that have had 2 severums that looked to be getting along

I have four severums in a 125 gallon about 3 inches big im hoping that there are no fights, also have uarus in there and a lot of dithers for now all is well and there is no aggression. I can already tell the darkest is the alpha so i guess its going to reign dominance over the rest. As long as you have a cleaar cut dominant fish i think all is well because the rest know their place

Green would look good with the red. The gold would match the red too much. Having different colors in the tank makes it more interesting

Yeah thats what I'm trying to do with them, but I will have a green phantom pleco in the tank so green will be in the tank even if I don't get a green severum.

I'm really torn on what to get. They both look awsome IMO and would be great additions to my tank
