ya what would u do with a 100 gallon?, a niger river biotpe or an all out community?

im stuck and cant decide, i was set on the african tank but then i went to my lfs' and kept seing cool fish i liked that wernt form africa..............

o ya, and add your suggestions as far as fish go, mostly midwellers (im always at a loss for dithers)

I wouldn't do either. 100 gallons isn't big enough for a lot of things. Depending on the dimensions I might do a fahaka.

Go W/ a nice mbuna or tanganika setup, you wont regret it bro......................I have a mix.......fronts and mbunas and no probs.....beautiful fish and i constantly get the ...."are yhose saltwater fish" line..................

ummm, thats pretty vuage, ya it cant hold arow, pbass, or dats (mabe a dat). but if were gonna go that way then a 300 gallon tank is too small for alot of things, like a great white, pimas, mekong giant cats, giant asian stingrays, blue whales, the list goes on.

not to be a jerk, just tryin to make a point.

what i meant by niger community is this:

1 Polypterus Ornatipinnis
1 Xenomystus Nigri
1 Gnathonemus petersii
1 Ctenopoma Acutirostre
1 Pantodon Buchholzi
5 Phenacogrammus Interruptus

a good amount of smaller fish, in fact i have half of them in my 30 gal already.....

or a simialr tank but with fish from different parts of the world..... somthing like this:

1 BGK
1 Polypterus Ornatipinnis
1 Red tailed shark
1 sun catfish
5 dithers (not good at picking dithers)

i dont know which would be more appealing so im asking my fellow ]v[FK'ers?
What do yall think?

What are the dimensions? It is too small IMO for the listed, as well as others. I was also talking about fish that I would actually keep, not whales or sharks. You were way to vague with what you were looking for... I don't do cichlids, I use to, but no longer, nor probably ever again. In terms of my choices that tank would be too small. You didn't ask what would you recommend that YOU put in a 100 gallon, you asked what would we put in a 100. I would do plants in a 100, or a fahaka puffer.

i didnt mean to come off as harsh.........
sorry if i upset anyone,

a fahaka would be cool, very cool actualy, but i have to have my Ornate in there as this is his tank, he got to big for his 30 gal and i want to skip putin him in a 55 and just go strait for the 90. i just dont know what to do as far as tankmates go............ so far thre are mre votes for the community rather than the biotope...................

The Niger river set-up sounds like the cooler of the 2 choices to me at this time, there are a couple of fish that I want to get on that list! You need to get what you really want inside, as long as the fish will survive/thrive,it is the only way you will be certain you made the right choice? Go for what you are leaning towards as long as it's good for the fish too,
