Bought a really nice, expensive piece of wood yesterday and asked the guy three times if it would sink. Threw it in my pond to soak for a couple of days and the stinker floated!!!:irked:

Should I go ahead and try to return it OR try to sink the wood by screwing it with stainless steel screws to a piece of plexi? I also question whether or not screwing it in with plexi will work since this piece of wood is really big!

Well if it is really nice, I would sink it. Instead of plexi though use an 18x18" slate tile. That will sink it better than the plexi.

I would put rocks and substrate on the plexi to sink it.

If I did use slate, anybody know if its difficult to screw into?

1 masonry drill bit, and some screws is all ya need. Easier IMO than plexi, as it doesn't bind on the drill bit.

screws/nuts/bolts must be stainless steel correct?

You can also use reefbuilders glue
