What would you do?

After hurricane Isaac my area was under a boil water advisory for a week. Just to make sure the water was good I waited a couple more weeks to do a water change (I normally do weekly 50 percent water changes).
A couple of days ago I did a water change and this morning I found one of my rio meta's dead.
My water perimeters are in check.
Temp is at 86.
All other fish in two tanks are acting fine including some grow outs.
Should I do another water change?

It's obvious I need to do a water change but there is no way of me knowing if the fish died from the water or if it was just coincidence.

You may be able to find a local water test from your local DEP... I know there is a way of finding this out.. Try some google searches.

I will look into this.

I also can't rule out the possibility that my water may have been out of whack from having to hold off on water changes and the change in water perameters during the water change was too much for him to handle.

If you waited 2 weeks after the boil water notice was lifted the water should be fine.
