I work in a hospital, and today one of the doctors approached me about setting up a display tank in his office. Something to sooth the people waiting. He did get a great tank to start with (90 gallon surfline). If you were in my position, what fish would you suggest keeping. Keep in mind that the people there day in and day out know nothing about the fish, and I would teach them how to feed and thats it. I would be doing the maintenance as well. I was thinking african cichlids or a huge community tank. What Woud Monster Fish Keepers Do? (that could be a cool bracelet!) Thanks in advance everyone, i know you wont let me down.

i think a mbuna setup would look awesome

just my 2 cents :D

Mbuna all the way, man!

The bright colors and all would soothe people a lot more than some oscars.

If you could somehow have the setup look like a "false marine" tank, that would rule.

several adult angels, some rams or bolivian rams, a school of cardinals, a couple whiptail cats, and a handful of hatchets (if ya have the tank covered)

I'm setting one up on the 14th and I'm doing south american and african cichlids. I charge $100 to supply the fish and food and change the water once a month. The great thing about this is you can move fish in and out because the fish are yours.

The key is to not overstock the tank and use bio spira to set it up. a nice morri and some jewels and a electic blue allie and a couple of yellow labs would be a great start.

The client buys all the equiptment and filters ect.

Of course I charge $120 to set up the tank and you do the first service 2 weeks after you set it up. Could be a nice side job to help fund your sickness... I mean hobby.

If you need some other ideas I live near Indianpolis and can help you find some fish at good prices. PM me if you want to.

100 a month for food and service, or a 1 time fee? Also, is bio spira the bacteria that comes in the little yellow container or am i way off? Thanks for your help, ive never done anything like this (keeping for someone else) so your advice is valued

No you get paid every month. Remember you will need a python and a couple of wet floor signs....$15 each... Bio spira is in a white and blue green packet. costs about $30 for enough to do a 90 gal tank.
